Alex Riordan

Project Manager

          Alex has over 15 years of agricultural experience, approximately 14 of which have been specifically dedicated to Environmental Services. Prior to working for F&R Ag Services, Alex dedicated 5 years to the environmental service industry through his position working as a Project Manager for the Source Group Inc. In addition to this experience, Alex committed 5 years to working for Nutri-Systems, where he assisted dairy industry clients by analyzing the effects of dairy cattle nutrition on nutrient management. Beyond Alex’s formal employment in the environmental services industry, he also maintains a personal connection to agriculture. Not only was Alex raised on his family’s farming operation, but he also comes from a family of committed dairy nutritionists in the Fresno area. Alex also proudly serves his community through his service as a Reserve Fresno County Sheriff Deputy.

          In addition to Alex’s applied agricultural experience, he has also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Studies with an emphasis in Ecology from the University of California Santa Barbara. Alex also possesses his Technical Service Provider (TSP) certification through the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).

Project Experience:

  • Serves approximately 50 dairies in Fresno, Merced, Madera, Tulare, and Kings counties
  • Compiles and organizes records of crop production, irrigation applications, nutrient applications, and nutrient exports in order to prepare Annual Reports for the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CDQAP)

  • Conducts weekly site inspections and completes associated inspection forms to fulfill regulatory compliance requirements

  • Obtains all required samples to ensure regulatory compliance

  • Prepares and updates Rule 4570 checklists and Conservation Management Practice Plans required by the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District

  • Prepares Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMPs) in accordance with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)

  • Obtains Authority to Construct permits through the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District

  • Assists with dairy closures through the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board

  • Assists dairy clients in preparing for California Dairy Quality Assurance Program (CDQAP) inspections and certifications

  • Acquires building permits and Conditional Use Permits for the purpose of expansion in Fresno, Merced, and Madera counties
